Brightons first team battle to stay in Div 1

After a tough start to the season being short of players and also suffering a few injuries, its been a tough year for the Brighton firsts which hasnt been helped by the amount of juniors from other clubs who are now playing top level squash against us.

However since Xmas the team has been improving and have bounced off the bottom of the division with a couple of great wins - notably 20-2 over rivals Lewes, followed by a 3-2 win against Corals IV,

This friday sees them taking on David Lloyd 1 from Eastbourne where they hope to pick up as many points as possible, a win could well see them safely remaining in Div 1 for a stronger season next year.

Mark Mulligan recently suffered a back injury meaning that the firsts really have their work cut out, and with Phil Ayton match tied after this fridays game and Phil Martin, largely undefeated this year but not able to make the game - means that Matt Lidington, Matt Pelling and the rest of the guys really need to push hard to get all the points they can.
